Ridge & Valley Outings Club
Located in State College and supported by Penn State, the Ridge & Valley Outings Club (RVOC) was formed in 1991 to promote hiking, backpacking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, trailwork, and canoeing in central Pennsylvania.
The club organizes a variety of outdoor experiences year-round to involve community members in experiences around central PA. Outings include Spring Creek Canyon, Bald Knob on Tussey Mountain, Mount Nittany, Bellefonte Rails to Trails, and much more!
Membership in RVOC is not necessary to participate, all activities are open to the public! (Though, an RVOC membership is only $10)

"Preserving Pennsylvania's Footpaths since 1956."
The Keystone Trails Association is a volunteer-directed public service organization dedicated to providing, preserving, protecting, and promoting recreational hiking trails and hiking opportunities in Pennsylvania. KTA works to protect hiking trail lands through support and advocacy and educate the public in the responsible use of hiking trails and the natural environment.
Volunteer opportunities are available for concerned individuals to work on trail crews to help maintain Pennsylvania's extensive system of hiking trails. Volunteers clear brush, cut overhanging branches and tree limbs, repaint trail blazes, and more to make sure PA's trails are kept in top condition. No prior experience is necessary to help in the trail care program and volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate.
